My local rag last week (3rd Feb 2010),reported that five security guards at our two local hospitals,(the QE2 at WGC, and the Lister at Stevenage) have been given 'police powers'. "The security guards(employed by Arena Security),have been "granted 'special status' by Hertfordshire Constabulary under the national COMMUNITY ACCREDITATION SCHEME. 'They will be able to ask for the name and address of anyone they suspect of causing anti-social behaviour, and request checks via the police national computer'.
